Does anyone want to start up thread on programming lighting? Ya know setting up lighting scenearios and such on a DMX controller.

Oops, I might wanna get into a little more detail on this. I'm talking about setting up cool scenes with intel lights. Basically describing pan/tilt color change settings to make for a really good light show. Get wild and give everyone some ideas.
I'm still new at this, and really only doing lights at private parties. I have only a small number of intels so what I tend to do is keep them aimed in a single direction for a while and introduce movement, color and gobo changes over the course of several songs so I keep the crowd interested. If I do sweeps and radical movements early in the show, there's nowhere to go and the crowd might get bored.
You don't have to throw all the goodies out at first. But it doesn't hurt to have a "little" show for the low time. Something simple that keeps the kiddies happy then when you step it up for the real crowd it doesn't look like you just decided to use them.
