Suggestions for basic DJ effects lights?

I have been picking up a few small town high school dances at the school where my daughter in law teaches.

I have gotten by with my four Tri18X and two RGB3C controllers...I split the lights, two on the dance floor in front of the stage in the school practice gym...and two from the stage aimed towards the far back wall so there are lights on the concession area. The Tri18X handle the room adequately

I just want to spice it up a little. Since my son (a non techie kind of guy) actually runs the system (I go home, after all, I provide the gear and do most of the set up...besides, it is his wife.) Anyway, I would appreciate idiot proof fixtures...set it, forget it kind of things.

And please pick budget priced devices...I probably only have $150 I can invest right now.

Thanks Jingles. I am not sure what the problem is, but I am unable to get the link you provided to work.

I understand your comment to "find something that I like..."

It is a little difficult for a 64 yr old geezer to select lighting effects that will work for high school, college and "20 somethings". I have no point of reference.

I gotta do some homework to figger out what works.

It worked that time. I will probably find myself spending a little time checking the video on many of these fixtures.

Many of the venues I work have a policy of no haze or fog. If I decided to purchase a laser, would the lack of atmosphere significantly impact those light's performance?

OK, that suggests that I need to take a friend out to lunch and pick his brain about lighting he uses...he knows I am not competition and we sub rent from each other on occasion...
