Sudden Sound Problem Need Help Quick

I was using my vms4 last night practicing with no problems at all. Today i broke out to practice some more for a gig tomorrow and all of a sudden no sound! Checked all the connections and settings and everything is good and the same as the night before. I turned up the master, gain, ch fader all the way up, crossfader in the right spot and cranked up the studio monitors all the way up and then i was barely able to hear music. The headphone output stopped working too. Need this fixed asap for my gig

are you on mac or on windows?
what dj software do you use?

did you try the usual voodoo:
- switching the vms off and on
- removing the usb cable, after a few secs plugging in again

Using windows with vdj 7, the vms4 does the same thing in analog mode too. I turned it on n off, restarted my computer, disconnected everything and reconnected it, restarted several times and still the same results. I called adj, they werent much help so i ended up calling up the place i got the vms4 from and they said they would exchange it for another unit. Such a bummer

If you turned if off and on, the software and the controller it should work fine. The unit does not suddenly loose the ability to let sound pass through. My concern is if you get another one, you could run into the same thing unless we figure it out what is going on in your set up. Are you in the US?

I am in the US. The functions of it still work fine, like mapping wise, all buttons, faders, and knobs work perfectly fine with vdj 7 and the LE but i still have the sound issues. Could the sound card in the unit have gone bad or possibly damaged from impact during shipping?

Ok looks like something happened with the driver , try this go to your Device manage and uninstall the Driver of the VMS4 then reboot your computer

Im in the device manager, dont know were the driver would be. Do i do it wit the vms4 plugged in or not through usb?

Yes make sure the VMS4 is plugged in USB the go and uninstall the driver in the device manager click the audio tab

Sound and video tab , you should see the VMS4 right click it and then uninstall , then reboot

Ok go to your sound properties is the VMS4 set on default ?> Open virtual DJ settings should be inputs none out puts external mixer sound card Asio Driver with the ultra latency checked

I did everything you said, i am running 7 pro, firmware has been updated when i 1st got it. updated again just to make sure. This time better results, more sound output with out cranking everything all the way up, but still nothing in the headphone when i try to cue. The VUs come on for the ch. i cue but nothing to the headphones and i tried 3 different set of headphones.

Also if you go to www.virtualdj.com and go to the controller section download the mapper , it works really good with the VMS4

I have the mappers and everything. Is there a ch. setup for the headphone jack through asio or anything like that?

Just want to see if I understand this right , when you hit any of the cue you do not hear any sound at all from the headphones correct >? Try this open up a song in media player not VJ and now try to hear for sound in headphones

I tried that this morning, i opened up windows media, it played at normal volume on ch.2, i hit the cue and still nothing from the headphones

Then its either the controller , or the settings . Put everything to default including your VJ settings . Click my documents then virtual dj folder then opsen up your mappers , what mapper in in that folder ? DO you have the DJDAD mapper

Ok try one more thing for me switch the VMS4 to anolog mode and plug in a couple of rca plugs to the back dof the vms4 and plug them into your cd player , now plug your headphones in , do you get any sound now ?

Are you getting sound out of your speakers when you put it to anolog mode ? So it's just the headphone jack thats not working right

Yes i am getting sound out of my speakers in analog and correct on the headphone jack that is not working
