Hello Support, this is my first time using this forum so I apologize if this issue has been addressed.

I experienced a bug/issue and need support. The problem only happens whenever I select "automatically start the last saved show". If I select that option, then whenever I click on the myDMX icon to open the program, an error appears: "esa.exe has encountered a problem and needs to close." and I am asked to send or not send to Microsoft. MyDMX will not open after that. (The work around is to manually click on my saved show to open it and unclick the option).
However, if I do not select "automatically start the last saved show", then the MyDMX opens perfectly and I am able to use the program as normal.
Please advise.
Thank you!

Uninstall the application. Restart. Then re-install.

Also, are you starting the computer with the dongle plugged in? Don't. Plug in shortly before you plan to use MyDMX.

Your computer specs are within expected requirements, you're good there. Shouldn't matter XP Home or Pro, but I do advise upgrading to SP3 and the latest batch of Windows patches. That could be some of your problem right there.
Chris, I have uninstalled and reinstalled but error still exist. James have forward this onto the development team as this might possibly be a bug.
In the mean time, I will install SP3 and updates as suggested by you.
Have you tried to select the ‘automatically start last saved show’ to see if the error happens for you too?
I had the same problem over the weekend. I contacted the support team at ADJ and they were stumped. Today they sent my file fixed (thank god) and said the problem was the show was missing some scenes and was not a complete show. I do not understand this at all, but I am up and running again. It seems a scene is either there or not, not sure how this would cause an error. Hope this helps, or points the admins in the right direction to troubleshoot.
Hmmm......

Perhaps you should try starting up MyDMX without having it set to open up teh last used show.

Why would your show become corrupt? I haven't had this issue. I advocate saving often, but maybe you should also save in multiple locations as well.

At least Support is quick to be able to dig deeper and help out. Good folks they are!
When I got the 'run time error' I thought it was a system error on my PC. But I installed MYDMX on a new computer and got the same error.

This is the message I got from support:

"When people in our office were trying to recreate your problem someone noticed that there where steps missing in a scene that you have created.
We couldn’t see anything. So we figured to pinpoint that problem and we did and figured out that is why it was an error. It was not a complete show."
I have recently made changes to my show. My main machine has been for MyDMX(and working fine) a MacBook Pro 17" with the CPU and display upgrades, 2 GIG RAM, latest updates, and XP Home. No problems. My changes were adding my Korg nanoKONTROL to MyDMX, and adding a new blackout scene. Nothing drastic or overy dramatic, and NOT creating new scenes.

Results: No problems.

Just for the heck of it, use your existing universe or your planned universe. SAVE. COPY it, work off that. Make a few scenese, say, color washes or something simple. Make a buttload of them. Save often! Save, save, save. Just save fairly often, to the point where people might thing you have some sort of OCD. Do your other programming(loops, go to next stuff, things of that nature). Go nuts, do whatever you were planning on doing but save often!!! Report back the results.

I'd do more to simulate but I'm slammed with tape and video transfers, video projects and a show and a bunch of computers to repair, so I'm slammed.

I know my idea requires a lot of work and I am sorry to lay it down on you like that, but it's necessary.
