Hello,

I am putting together the light show for our band. We started with some simple LED spots (Chauvet) and two LED bars (ADJ Mega Bar 50) controlled by an Obey 40, and that was fine. We just acquired 3 ADJ Deluxe Scan 250s and 3 ADJ DJ Spot 250s so I am thinking we should probably upgrade our ability to control this system.

MyDMX (~$240) is a little more expensive than something like Freestyler with the Enttec Pro (~$150) but otherwise they seem to have similar features. From what I can tell there is no Freestyler fixture file for the Deluxe Scan 250 so I would have to make that but that seems doable. I assume that MyDMX will have fixture files for all ADJ fixtures - is that correct?.

I would welcome any advice on how to proceed and the merits of these two options. Alternatively, is it reasonable to expect to control this system with the Obey 40?

Thanks,

Doug Danforth

p.s. We do have a sound person and hope to also add a dedicated person to run lights but I will undoubtedly be the one programming these.

Well, I can't comment on the FreeStyler product since I'm not familiar with it at all.

I'm not sure what the ADJ MyDMX software does and does not come with. Download the latest release and the latest profiles to see what's available. Also, Jingles has been working on many, MANY other profiles for many different brands as well. Overall though, ADJ has been making efforts to ensure their products are properly represented.
