One thing that would be really useful with My DMX is a password lockout function that prevents dozy DJ's and promoters fiddling around with the settings. It would be so useful if the program had a password lock to prevent moving from the User to the Editor or SetUp screen.

We have idiots at the club who think they know what they are doing and fiddle with the fingers and LPT settings that can really stuff things up! I am sure it wont take much to add a lock to the screen. Incidently the software works superb with a touchscreen.

Anyother idea for the software would be a function where you "name" the fixtures in the editor screen. I know you can change the colours of the sliders to corrospond to the fixture but when you have 29 fixtures with simular finger controls it can be a bit confusing! If you had a bar just above sliders you could drag a grab handle across to match the sliders.

Also on the User screen we could do with a function ro change the colour of the blue rectangles to other colours to make it easier to group the fixtures. Also a fuunction to make them smaller so you can get all 200 or so rectangles on a single screen without the need to scroll! A lot to ask and maybe a bit piccy! I cant find a way to make the resolution higher to get more on the blue rectangles on the screen. Also the font set againt the blue is quite bad for club land as it's usully dark and we use red lights to light the booth up. Can you do a font change and colour? We have just bought another M-DMX for a large theatre in London so it really is capable of doing major productions.
for the first paragraph in your post do you mean say grab all dimmer channel for say 6 accu spot 300's? If so, you can simply click on the fader be it color wheel, gobo, dimmer, shutter, pan or tilt, etc and hold down the shift key and then drag the fader up or down and all like fixtures will respond to that one fader command. Make sense?
Sincerely,
Say if you could call the channels for a given fixtures in a "grab box" above the sliders. So for instance if you had a X-Scan LED Plus with 8 channels you could "name" the sliders just above where they are called 1.2.3.4.5.6.7.8 as X-SCAN and say you had a smoke machine working off 9 & 10 you could call those channels "Smoke" and so on....

I know you can change the colour of the sliders to corrospond with the fixture but when you have about 20 fixtures its a bit confusing! Hope that helps you out a bit. you can see what i mean at www.skinhead.be/dmx.htm
