Can i please ask what an audio snake is?

I have a 32 channel x 8 return x 100' snake and use one of my returns to send DMX to about 18 units and it works great.

An audio snake is a bunch of XLR cables bunched up in one big fat heavey cable. It helps keep the cables organized.

what does an audio snake do?

It allows you to have one neat long cable which has all of the individal channels in that one cable. You plug your items into the channels into the box part and then plug the corresponding channel from the big end into your mixer. If that made any sense at all.

Not so much used in DJ, But imagine you are a sound tech for a band.

The band is up on stage, but to properly guage the sound you have the mixer in the back of the room, you can run 10 mic cables to the mixer, or plug them into a snake and run one cable back...

so are you saying that you run the one big cable lead back to the mixer and then all the xlrs go into the right channels into the mixer?

The corresponding channels go into the right input on the box part of the snake.
