Hey fellows...

I'm interested in some intelligent fixtures like the pockets (not bright enough) ScanTrons, or Mighty Scans but I have a question.....

Most fixture xy movements in the video and even in person are quite fast. This works awesome, but I'm mainly interested in doing slower and more controlled xy moves. Any suggestions? I'm pretty sure the DJ Scan may not be able to but what about the others? Would I need to use a DMX board to accomplish this?

Hope someone can shed some experience on this for me.

Thanks! Smiler

well...that part is easy to understand of course.
When using something like an Operator or something designed for intells not stage productions, can you manually program a slow scene?

IE: Use the delay slider to cause a slow change to the pan/scan channel?

Hopefully I'm communicating what I mean.. lol
DJ Scans give slow movement....its just jerky looking because the degree's of movement isnt small. By the way...what is the pan/tilt range of a DJ Scan?

A lights stepper motor has a certain amount of degree's it makes for a minimal movement. 1.8 is fine, while 3 degrees isnt as fine. But a scantron is a higher end unit, so it will look good.
Got it.

Thanks so much for the info. After going to my dealer today and playing for about an hour with the Pocket and the ScanTron, I'll go with the Scan. It's just too inexpensive, bright, and amazingly smooth.

Also, if I buy four he's gonna throw in an Operator, cables, and clamps. Can't complain about that.

You guys are great.
