I am running four pocket scans controlled by an Operator II. When I am running a chase and I adjust the fade times to a slow setting, I notice that the pocket scan that is first in the dmx chain fades much slower than the others. The other three pocket scans are in sync with each other, but not the first one. Any ideas what could be wrong?

Is that the proper setting on the PSs(S-F send fast mode) when using the pocket scans addressed as dmx fixtures? I really did not pay attention to that setting when I started programming with the Operator. For some reason I was under the impression that the send fast or send slow mode had to do with the stand alone audio modes. That may be the problem. I will check it out. Thanks.
what i usually would do in that situation is put them all in stand-alone modes, then connect all DMX cables (excluding controller), the before you plug in the dmx cable to the DMX controller turn the power off then put the DMX cable in (give it 5-10 seconds to figure what mode it is in after you turn the DMX controller on. Wink
the Pocket scan should be in Rec mode not SF or SS when using an external controller. SS is Sound slow SF is Sound Fast. Getting back to the original Question Is it the First addressed or first in line? try moving the hookups around to see if it is the unit or something else. IE reverse the order of connection. or see if changing the address makes a different
Yes Candyman (support), the pocket scan in question is both the first in line of the dmx chain and is also the lowest address of the chain. It is addressed to be the number 2 scanner on the Operator II (dmx address 017). I do not currently have a fixture in the number 1 position. I will try moving the connections and see if that makes a difference. And yes, I do have a terminator in use on the last fixture in the chain in case someone was thinking that might be the problem. Thanks to all for your answers thus far, I appreciate it.
Well, I tried changing the cabling order and nothing changed. Then I changed the addressing of the pocket scans and discovered that the slow scanning problem appears to be connected to the fixture that is assigned the 017 dmx address (scanner 2 on the Operator II). No matter which pocket scan was assigned that address, the problem would attach to that scanner. Any further ideas as to what is wrong, Support?
sorry I took so long to answer, I was at CES in Vegas. It could be something in the Programming. Try making a simple program on one bank on scenes make sure to adjust the Speed function( channel Six) to fastes movement. Run the scenes chasing and see if it works better. If it does just reprogram all the scenes by
re-adjusting the Speed function.
