Other than the rubber bumpers and joystick.. would a person gain anything else by upgrading to the SD1 from the Show Designer?

In addition to those things you mentioned, 3 more pages of factory chases have been added, the fixture library list has been updated, and factory presets of colors and gobos have been added for many of the ADJ and Elation lights. You can also copy the memory from your old Show Designer into the new one with a direct cable, by using your computer or by using the new Show Designer disk drive.

i would like to know if you can dowload the 3 pages of factory chases from american dj's web site. i would love more factory chases in my show designer.one other thing, do the updates for the show designer include ******* products like.(intimidator or insignia). i have them programed as matin mx 4's.
The factory chases are part of the Show Designer software so they can't be loaded in by themselves. The SD1 comes with more chases than the original Show Designer.
You can set up your own profiles for fixtures on the SD1, and it's relatively painless. If you are used to programming on a ShowDesigner you'll probably find the joystick to be useless, as it doesn't respond nearly as fast; this is not unique to the SD1, nearly all joysticks are sluggish.
