OK IM REALLY STUCK HERE SO I THOUGHT I WOULD SEE IF ANYONE CAN HELP.

EXPERIENCE PROGRAMMER HERE BUT NOT TO FIMILAR WITH THE SHOW DESIGENER. THE CLUB I WORK FOR JUST BOUGHT 8 AMERICAN DJ PAR 64 LED'S AND THEY HAD A OLD SHOW DESIGNER THEY WANTED TO TRY TO USE TO PROGEAM THE FIXTURES AND I THUGHT IS WAS DEFINATLY POSSIBLE BUT NOW I HAVE RUN INTO ISSUES. I SEE THE FIXTURE LIBARY DOES NOT HAVE THE PAR'S IN IT AND AND I CANT SEEM TO FIND A COMMON MACHING 6 CHANNEL FIXTURE THAT RESPONDED TO THE 64'S WITH THE CONTROLLER.

CAN ANYONE HELP?

Sure. Turn off your CAPS LOCK key.

We're past the days of the mid-80's where we type in all CAPS.

First off, I can't see why the heck any DMX controller would need a profile of any light in order to make it work. Profiles just make things easier, otherwise we're just sending values from 0-255 anyways and the light should respond to it.

I can't find anything on the Show Designer. I do see the Show Designer 2 and 3 on the Elation site, but since you're not getting that specific, perhaps it is because it is in fact the older Show Designer.

I would start with the basics: Check your cabling and then look at your lights and check your DMX addressing as well as the addressing on your controller. If those line up, then it shouldn't matter if you have a profile or not.

My DMX Operator doesn't even have the capability to work with profiles, and it has controlled my 64 LED Pros just fine.

If you're looking for the original Show Designer, it is a discontinued item. Check it out here:
Show Designer Page

Going about 3/4'ths of the way down, you'll find downloads for the Show Designer 1, 2CF and 3, as well as a few other downloads associated with those units. That may be what you're after.

Have fun.
While there may not be a dedicated profile for that particular fixture, just edit a different one, rename it and alter the traits. You can take the profile for a Mac 2000 and change it over to the Par 64 LED. Really.

The Show Designer, and many other controllers, just use a profile to reference shortcuts to make things like the 'black out' button and pan/tilt joysticks or control wheels work appropriately. Though not absolutely necessary, it makes some things easier later down the line.

At the end of the day, your fixture is a 6 channel fixture and you will use channels 1-6 (so-to-say) on your controller to operate it.

Just make sure they are patched correctly and you'll be fine. Any of the profiles can be modified and renamed to something new.

A profile really becomes helpful when you're applying macros to your programming. For instance, if you are using a circular movement macro, and you have 3 different types of fixtures, the controller needs to know what channels represent the pan/tilt control. As a result, the profile translates the fixture traits into a coded reference to shortcut some manual programming/operation.

Just remember, channels 1-6 are going to operate the fixture regardless. Profiles can make the most of your controller, but you're not blocked from using the controller just because a profile does not exist.
