A couple of questions if possible.

1) Is it possible to purchase some kind of show controller where seperate Fade and Hold times can be stored per scene.

2) Am I right in saying that with a standard type of DMX board a chases Fade and Hold times are directly relational to what is set on the sliders on the board at the time they are running and cannot be stored for a chase?

My issue is that I currently have the DMX Partner and while small and compact it does not allow me seperate Hold and Fade times and can make my shows jolty. So in essence I am looking for something that allows me to create roughly 8 shows that can have seperate Fade and Hold times throughout the show.

I have MyDMX but do not really want to take out a laptop for gigs and would like a controller type of unit. Hope this all makes sense.

1) Yes, there are quite a few consoles like this.

2) Yes and no. It depends on the type of board. A DMX Operator can't program the fade times into each scene. A Magic 260 can store the fade times in each scene and a hold time in between each scene for the shows (chases). The faders can just be used as a manual override. I am not sure if any console in between the two, like a DMX Operator Pro can store the info into the scenes or not.
Check here for different consoles AMDJ has. They range from the DMX Operator to the DMX Operator 192 which is a bigger DMX Operator with more scenes. Then next up is the DMX Operator Pro which builds on the 192. Bigger board for easier control and more scenes still. The last step in that chain is the Magic 260. It has the highest channel count, most scenes, and most chases (calls them shows instead).

If looking for something higher still, check out Elation.

What does your setup consist of and what are you goals expansion wise? I don't want to recommend something that wouldn't work for what you have, what you are looking to do, and what you are possibly looking to do in the future.
