setting up master slave to contrast on a pair of jellyfish

hi peeps just purchased a pair of jellyfish and trying to set them up to contrast each other. so far no luck! got them to mimic each other perfectly but when i set one to master and the other to slave in setting SL2 as per instructions for contrast i get no change, i can of course flip one light upside down to get the desired effect but ant tips in settings that i may have missed would be appreciated.......
