Hi James,

Ok, the more I play with this, the more I like it Smiler

A couple of questions if you can help :-

1) the tick box "Default Setting" under the Channel settings after you've added a channel - What does this do and when would you use it ?

2) the other tick box "Step/Proportional", again What does this do and when would you use it ? (It gets added if you chose Dimmer Linear) ?

Cheers,

Howie.

Hey Howie. Glad you like it.
these functions have more purpose for the compu live and compu show programs. But here is what they do anyways.
1) This sets a default preset for that channel. for example in a software program you want to open or black out the shutters and if shutter open is set as default then the program knows where the "default" shutter open is as most shutter channels have blackout, open, strobe linear, open, pulse, random strobe, and open once again. Because of the numerous instances of "open" we can tell the program which default open to use. Make sense? However my dmx doesn't really have much use for this.

2) This one would allow a fader to be applied to the button on compu live or show. It tells the program if the range of values in the preset are dynamic (like a dimmer or strobe channel) or simply static where it doesn't matter what exact value this preset is on because value XX-XX have no change on the fixture. This function is almost totally for compu live/ show as there are no faders on buttons in my dmx as you always have your faders visible. Make sense?
Sincerely,
