Hey everyone
Some of you may heard of a collage called SAE, It is a sound engineering course that is suppose to be the best in the world. I have had some brochures sent to me about it and i am seriously considering going there in august.
In the future i want to be doing things like installing sound systems and doing the sound for concerts.
Does any body know if this is what the course teaches you or does it teach you somthing different in the sound industry
thanks

It all depends, does SAE offer training in electrical, rigging and safety. These are the three key aspects for club installations. The club installers I know have all gone through their electricians training and are certified "sparkies". Once you have that the world's your oyster. But club installations are not all speakers and subs - careful planning, OH&S issues, insurance, public liability, council ordinance and licensing play a big part in club and concert setups. As an installer, all these issues must be adhered too. Not sure about other countries but in Australia this industry is heavily regulated. At the end of the day its all hard work so good luck in your quest.

ROQ out.
