Hey guys,
We are going to start working with a sound company and run lighting. We currently are using mydmx to run our band shows and it works great. Here is my question. We are using their standard par 64 cans until they change to LED's, and some Martin Roboscan 812's until movers are purchased. He has a GrandMA Lightcommander II (oldie but goodie). I think it would be a no brainer to use our software since we are used to it already and have no major learning curves. They plan to use 24-36 pars on backline and 24+ for frontline. Since our light guy and myself are used to the program, would it be smart to use 2 setups, one for all wash lights and the other for movers and effects?
Thanks
Schlep

2 setups would mean just that, 2 computers, 2 mydmx dongles, 2 eyes watching them. I found its easier to use one software and just make a whole lot of different scenes. Also using the LTP setting in scenes helps manually changing the colors while the mover head are doing their thing. If you make scenes like I did, be sure you organize them in a manner were simple color schemes are next to each other.
