I guess all VMS4 have a the same problem with rotary knobs reacting logarithmic instead of linear, FW 3.11 could not fix it.
To me it looks quite obvious that there is a serious construction problem with the VMS4, means
AA would have to refund if so!

Did anyone get the problem with the rotary knobs fixed?

so, now i got the answer from the guy who actually built the vms4:

"The rotary EQ knobs work differently on older vs. newer code.

Old VMS4 3.11 software is full linear,
while on VMS4 version 5.5 software and VMS4.1, VMS2, and VMS4 Traktor the EQs are linear from off to 0 dB on the left and from 0dB to 12dB linear on the right

so in neither case they are logarithmic.

please have a read about pre- and post-EQ modes in the manual.

So where is the difference if everything is working linear as described?

The guy who built and told you about the VMS4 was not telling you the truth!

My rotary EQs are working logarithmic, my FW is 3.11. and it was the 2nd VMS4 I was testing for AA without any cost for them ;-)
'Full linear' is foolishness, there is either a linear or a logarithmic fader curve and nothing in between.
'linear from off to 0 dB on the left and from 0dB to 12dB linear on the right'

Seems like AA did mean the full range from -12dB to +12dB, which is simple called 'linear', why so complicate?

But you got me some news, where is that VMS4 version 5.5 software? Is it a new firmware?
Please tell me more about AA's hidden secrets ;-)

i told you. read about pre- and post-EQ modes in the manual.
as you use it now, traktors EQ mappings is on top of the hardware EQs, that's why you get unwanted results.

it's one thing not to be able to accept that you made a mistake, but another to accuse a well respected person like elliot (the inventor of the innofader) to lie.

and exactly this is why the discussion is over now. as you can see, no one else is experiencing your issues, which should also give you a hint that there's sth wrong on YOUR end.
