Revo 4 limits on DMX

I have 2 Revo 4's and up until last night I was very happy with them. (I'm not bashing...so please don't take it that way). I saw a you tube video with the pre-programmed show #0 and there isn't any way that I can get same effect with DMX. Since I never had any intention of running these without any control (who would buy a dmx light and not control it anyway?)It seems the non-technical or lazy DJ can get a better effect without any effort.

I would like to be able get a full color display where all of the r/g/b/w leds come on at the same time and separatly by each color. Is there any way to update the software on these units?

I'm not bashing ADJ products because these lights are part of my large light show. I currently run 16 Mega Bars for uplighting, 4 par 46 HP for wash lights on my Global Truss, 4 accu scan 250's and 6 led pin spots for the mirrorball. Until recently I had limitations with the old dmx board and "My DMX" has been the best thing since digital dj software.

The problem you will find if the pre-programed shows is they change fast and change often. It looks like it is doing a lot more then what it actually is. The only way you can achieve the same look is if you make a lot of changes. Also, in 4 channel mode, if you set channel one to pattern mode, channel 2 then selects the type of pattern, and channel 3 selects what colors are on. If you program a chase with channel 3 set to what colors you want and then cycle through the patterns on channel 2 as the chase progresses. This might be the effect you are looking for.

Short of that, I just realized I can do some really crazy things on the Hog with one since it is basically 14 RGBW LED fixtures in 256 channel mode. I will have to see if I can't get one and try it sometime.
