Well, the issue is that I have literally TONS of audio gear, and the truck is optimized by it's load to haul gear that is in cases or solid enough to stand alone.
This leaves the lighting to live in the cab-over section, which makes it a pain in the butt to get to(due to weight and insufficient room to move). All that's in the cab-over area right now is the older party-style lights, which will be coming out in a few days and staying in the garage until SacAnime at the start of September.
Since I rarely need to take out the back row of gear(which is all subwoofers anyways), I can't conveniently get to the cab-over section. I do let the monitors rest on the subs during transport, and I've made a "web" from straps to help keep the cab-over section save from moving monitors.
So, I have to learn to load my truck to create "platforms" to hold Arriba cases with lights in them, or not. For example, my 4 Mega Panels on a 5-foot section of i-beam trussing has to lay relatively flat and not want to move around so much because it's not in a case. I have 4 bags for Parcans, and I have 2 cases, each with 4 64 LED Pros connected to an LTS-2 T-bar and pre-wired and stuffed in the bag as best as possible(they don't fit entirely, but it serves to transport them conveniently). I'll have to remove 2 bags full of Par38's so I can re-use them for the new Opti Tri pars when they come in.
I don't even want to think how a FULL LOAD would go these days! With me phasing out this stupid reel my 56-channel 200-foot whip used to reside on, I get back a bunch of space by using a plastic 27-gallon bin that matches the bins I use for other things as well.
Even so, the priority is STILL audio gear. My existing monitors are being phased out due to thermalling issues(Mackie SRM-450s dont' cool properly in the monitor position, I'll try KV2 Audio EX 12's instead, or perhaps some of the new QSC K-series). Truck space isn't going to change much.
I wish business would take off so I could afford a smaller truck for lighting and video.
No matter how things go, the 3D Visualizers aren't going to stop being used. Those are mega important tools for me!
