Is there some type of dmx mirror ball motor that will lower and raise a mirror ball? We don't want the ball visible all the time.

ok. thanks. Another question. I am now looking at the sunray tri instead of a mirror ball. I have read on multiple vendors websites that it has been discontinued. Is this true? If so, why? Is there a problem with them? I still see a couple of places selling them but if there is some sort of problem with them I certainly don't want to invest money in them.
i still see them up on our website, so i would say they are not discontinued. However, if they are, typically lights are discontinued because we added a new version of the same fixture or if the fixture didnt sell as expected. Since there are a couple versions prior to the Tri...i would take that, if it is discontinued, that we have released or will release a newer version of the same light But it looks like its not discontinued
ok, one last question. I am also looking at the dekker LED. Will this work with full functionality in MyDMX 2? In the documentation it has a statement that confuses me. It says, \
"This function will allow you to control each individual fixture’s traits with a standard DMX 512 controller such as the Elation® Show Designer™ or the Elation® DMX Operator"
It doesn't mention the MyDMX specifically so will I be able to use it in 2 channel or 8 channel mode?

A couple options:
a pantagraph. It's used to raise and lower light fixtures. Imagine a scissor lift only smaller and hung from your batten or truss.
A couple chain hoist motors and a stick of truss. You need 2 to keep the truss from spinning around. Pretty expensive for the end result.

NCSCUBA - yes, mydmx2 will run the Dekker LED the statement you quoted was simply an example of controllers that will run them
