I had 2 Smart-Tec Arcbeams. They were super! They were very, very strong, sturdy, and well built. I looked at a concept, and I laughed (no offence) One drop and the mirror head is gonna need a new body. The shape of the startec's was a oval shape, with heat welds on them, to make them sutrdier, and give them texture.

Actually, thats a question that I often ponder... where are all the old amdj lighting videos? I really would love to have a copy of one if anyone had one... but going to you lighting topic... I haven't found anything more rugged than those x-tremes besides the older StarTec 150-AS Those were some champs, there... I would love to get my hands on some 250w StarTecs but I don't know anyone that wants to get rid of them.. that's a dream light.... wish I still had, just like the old StarTec Kalidascopes, if anyone has some of those they want to get rid of, would love to take those off of your hands, too!

STROBE TECH man. those were pro color changers. They had like the best stobe i have ever seen on a color changer by adj. I saw some on ebay like a month ago for under 150. That was 150 for 4 of them btw.

aww Yes I remember the olddddd mini-star-tecs, aww those were so cool at the time.

I sold 4 star-tec 150's for $500 a while ago to a cafe I installed. before that i bought them two days before for $140. I liked them but I have a rig of robo-scans and these wouldnt due. I remember they had very sharp gobos and great colors in them.

the extremes I used to see here and there and in my opin they were the biggest P.O.S. I have ever seen. either the lamp would go or the color wheel would get jammed or something. my buddy has 2 brand new never used ones still in his garage. he brought them to a party they didnt work and he didnt have the time to mess with them.

but yea those old star-tecs rocked, I was talking to a moron the other day who has 6 of them and wants $900 each. I was like "what are you smoking?" he said there classics........lol
