hey guys, i have had my VMS4 for about 2 weeks now and love it! But one of the problems im having with it, is that i cannot record proper sounding mixes with it...due to the fact that the mixer is analog and does not register at all with the virtual DJ software...Well i really want to start recorind mixes, and am at a standstill here trying to figure out how i can record proper sounding mixes. So if anyone could help me out, id appreciate it SOO MUCH!
Thanks!

Hello there I,ve had the same problem it seems the solution is that u need to use the internal mixer on your software of choice to be able to use the internal recorder.

To do this u need to disable the vms4's mixer section by switching it off then holding down the 4th monitor cue button and switching it back on again then release the button after about 2 seconds , then u have to map the vms4's mixer section to the software of you choice this includes all the gains eq high mid and low , the upfaders , the crossfadert , the cue/mix/master rotary the crossfader curve , the headphone gain and the master volume and balance....and also the headphones monitor cue buttons which are the only ones i am having trouble with see my post about them as i am waitng for some help myself....

hope this helps ya !!!
External recording is your best bet. Either CD-R, DVD recording deck or some digital recording method to a USB stick, SD card or direct to hard drive.

Prices vary depending on what you need. Ranges from stupid cheap to "holy crap, I gotta use my house as collateral" type pricing. It also depends on what you need to to. Make sure you have line inputs and I'm sure you can get something GOOD for under $250.

Looping back into your computer for recording is a recipe for grief.
