UPDATE, 23.11.2010 :

NOTHING HAS BEEN FIXED during the second sevice request. I'm sorry but my opinion so far -- ADJ EU technical staff is incapable (or most likely not willing to) of reading problem description and properly testing their hardware.

Response from ADJ Technical Support Team: "performed reset by re-uploading software. Tested ok with VDJ pro, 4 desk mode."

-- Original post starts here --

Hi all, as subject says. I sent my unit back to dealer, got it back not fixed. My VMS obviously had a nice flight to ADJ EU. None of the problems I described in the service request have been fixed --

1) Broken MIDILOG4/Treble knob. Sends random data http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=QW3oO7gKffc,
2) Unreliable Right Play
3) Unreliable Right Loop Out - by unreliable I mean - I hear and feel click but no midi data sent.

To monitor midi data I'm using MIDI-OX (win) and Midi Monitor (Mac).

Yes, I was. Before shipping off the hardware I wrote an email to the address indicated in your signature describing problems with controls. Got rather optimistic response suggesting to contact my dealer. I shipped off the unit. Got it back in 2 weeks with all the problems still in place. And there is a paper originated in ADJ EU tech support pretty much saying this - 'Tested in VDJ. Result: OK.'
I'm sorry but this is typical IT/helpdesk crap. BTW, I'm IT myself.
@AAF1
It doesn't matter what software I'm using.

Sure I have ADJASIO installed on Windows (XP Pro) and no drivers on Mac.

VMS4 described as MIDI controller. Therefore I expect it to send precise enough (as per tech specs) MIDI data to whatever host it is connected to.

What I see that after 2 months of occasional use in a regularly vacuum cleaned room some controls on the device seem like start falling apart. Smiler

Here is the video on the faulty knob

Cheers.
Hy dusty, i had the same problem over here with my vms4. After 3 weeks the bass rotary of ch 3 was failing just like your buttons. Also other rotary knobs felt kinda loose or not solid. I sent mine back to AA service and after a couple weeks i received it back with the message that it was fixed including the repairforms and the testing message. BUT apparently it was not, because when i tested it myself the problem was still there like it was before this super reparation service of AA!! I dont know if this is just a coincidence or just a lack of service.

fortunately the shop were i bought my vms4 provide me with a brand new one and took care of my problems! great service of the shop. All with all i really really love the vms4 but now i have my doubts about the quality of the vms4 rotary knobs and the repair service of AA.
i got an answer from ADJ. if your problems persist, please contact them again!

S10 is the same as C16 - one is hexadecimal the later is Decimal midi code.

make sure he is using Firmware 3.11

it could also mean the he is having voltage spikes on his power supply ask if this happens on all knobs or just the one on his video.

hope this helps, guys.
