Is there a way to control the way the rainbow tubes work? I mean can you use a DMX controller to make them flux up & down like a signal meter in various colors? Also how tough are they, are they like a standard flourecsent light or do they actually stand up to a real beating?

I hope I got the product name right cause they are made by AMDJ Lighting. Also I allready know about the controller that you have to get spparately. I do a lot of mobile work so I want to make sure that they are worth the 250 a peice before I get them.

Aha ok I see. Well from what I know they are not run off of a standard DMX type deal...they have their own method of control. The connection for control isnt 3 pin XLR its something specific to the rainbow tube and only compatable with the rainbow tube controller. So you have to have the special controller. Also as far as "body style" those things are pretty rugged. I wuldnt go throwing them against a wall of course but you know that I mean. They are not flrousecent bulbs, its actually neon. Also the units themselves are pretty big its a nice hunk of light. From what I know from working with and around them theyre pretty rugged...however shuld still be given the tlc. Heopt his helps. And anyone please correct me if Im worng (which i dont think I am).

That's what I was thinking. I couldn't see the way it plugged into the controller at the show they had it hid pretty well. However I did get to see how tough they are. They are definatly pretty rugged Eeker Whick makes better for the high price per stick. So I guess I'll just hafta fork out the extra ducketts to get the controller/interface for DMX. Mad Wahh! I was hoping to save a few extra bux so I could get a #1 Stevie Ray Fan T-shirt Big Grin BTW right idea Kev but AMP allready posted that. Thanks for the attempt tho.

Rage on!
