OK, so I see things about RDMX, which is some sort of thing used to address lights that support RDMX. I'm not going to slam or speak negatively about it. I see a nice application that can help virtually any lighting designer, especially with a rig they aren't familiar with or more importantly, may have designed but didn't assemble.
To do the remote address assignment, can this be done via any DMX controller? Can this be done via MyDMX?
I don't currently have any RDMX compatible fixtures, and not being able to remotely address them won't be a factor in my decision to purchase or not purchase a light.
Is this merely an extension of the DMX-512 protocol? I fail to see how you initially address the lights to actually address them. I just envision a whole rig using RDMX and then having to assign the whole thing. Seems a bit scary.
