Quick qdvice needed...

Well I think moving heads look cool. but at the same time if you don't want light on the back of the truss on the wall behind your set up then I would go with scanners. how are you controlling the lights? sound active? or do you have a DMX controller?

I have the trusty myDMX. Any specific scanners you'd suggest then? I was looking at the COMscan LED Scanner. I would need something with a strong light output, maybe something that ppl have experience working with and they'd recommend.

Comscan should work well for that amount of space and limited throw distance. No experience myself with the unit, so maybe someone else can comment?

With regards to moving head vs mirror, depends on what you are looking to do. Moving mirror aka scanners are much quicker on the movement front do to less that actually moves. They cover less range and generally are slightly dimmer then comparable moving heads do to the mirror. If you have a large area that you need to cover, moving head is the best bet.

Since you have a fixed area to cover, I think moving mirror should work well for you. If you may want to expand that area in the future however, I might look towards a moving head. Just food for thought.

Perhaps x scan LED PLUS? i have experience with the x move led plus and they are nice DJ fixtures. also one of my favorite ADJ scanner which we don't make or sell any more were the performance scans. If you can find a set of those grab them. The colors are amazing and the gobo's are pretty good and they rotate.
