Read the manual and see if it is safe to operate from that angle. Certain fixtures are ideall meant to be within certain angles to ensure proper ventilation.

Otherwise, you may limit your choice of clamp selections. I've had great results with the O-Clamps. You'll just want to really crank down the o-clamp as well as the bracket on the fixture and you SHOULD be fine. The brackets tend to be pretty strong. You will really want to secure that fixture to the clamp as well, so just double check everything.

Another idea might be to top-mount the Par-Cans and under-hand the Quad-Gem?

Now, on my T-Bars, I stopped using the O-clamps and went back to the bolts. Why? I'm using the Par38's, so we're not talking about a weight issue. Using the bolts should be safe but you do need to take weight into consideration. You don't want to seriously unbalance the stand or you could run into problems, such as the stand falling over. Yeah, it COULD happen, but it might not. Plan for the worst. If you're balanced, it will go easier, probably not be an issue. Just ensure you're within the safe load value for the T-bar as well.

Another suggestion: use a clamp and mount it to the stand itself just under where the T-bar sits. That would avoid the unbalanced problems.

Just test this ahead of time on a flat, level surface.

I've checked the manual, but I don't think there is a ventilation problem. There are no vents on the top or bottom of the unit, and these things barely put off any heat.

I like your idea of mounting the lights above the bar, but I've got American DJ Pro 64 Pars and they are pretty big. So far it looks like the round pole attachement just under the cans looks like the way to go.

The dsp function on the quad gem should be enough of a reason to think that it can be hung upside down. otherwise, why would you need to flip the words of the digital display.

Some motors and other components may not be designed to be mounted at certain angles. That can play true with passive cooling methods. Don't assume, DSP and/or LED automatically assumes "mount at any angle".

He's not talking about inverting the display, but rather seeing if altnative mounting positions are OK. The manuals will often state things like "mount at any angle" and "run all night". That would typically mean safe. Sometimes "run all night" doesn't mean "safe to mount at any angle", so always read the manuals. Or ask in the forums.
