i'm a mobile DJ, weddings, sweet 16, etc
and also play in a Wedding Band
i have simple light stand with 1xRevo4, 2xRevo Raves, Galaxian 3D Laser,

as you guys know from my other posts i am very interested in Mega Bar 50's,
would mount them on side arms facing stage mostly

but now, i started checking out Profile Panels, and am second guessing the Mega's

can anyone comment on both Panels, and Bars? pros/cons?
one give out more light?

they seems to be same exact price.
but the panels seems to have double the LED's and create some really cool patterns that Mega Bars can't

again just trying to add 2 simple lights to the sidearms of my 1 light stand to add light mostly to the stage, occasionally onto dancefloor for younger crowds

so 2xMega Bar 50's ?
or 2xProfile Panels?

would appreciate all your feedback/recommendations on these 2 fixtures
if anyone has used both, or seen them

Kind of a tough call. The profile panel is bright.
We had one in the center of our booth above the flash panel display and wit hit just on it lit up our booth pretty well. And they do some nice patterns.
It's really your call, the patterns vs. the small compact remote control.
I do know Chris has both panels and bars. He could tell you which ones he likes better.
Sincerely,
Well, let me shoot in my advice.

I have 4 Mega Panels. I'm GOING to buy 4 Profile Panels. I also have 8 mega Bar 50's.

Check out my silly set-up for halloween using all sorts of mostly ADJ and Antari gear(yes, there's a Chauvet in there)

Now, that's an LTS-2 stand with the T-bar. DO NOT mount your Mega Bar 50's like this. You COULD break the caps. I've had to replace a good many caps, but in my defence, my idiot crew(now fired) broke most of them due to incompetence and not giving a crap putting them away. The Mega Bar50' are TOO wide to mount sideways onto the bar, which surprised me, but hey, this was how I was gonna do it anyways. while my results were good, I'm not going to do it that way next year. I'll do something else.

The Mega Panels ROCK!! I love these. I did a rave, and it was for 500+ people, and these 4 mounted where ALL that was needed running sound active all night. Here's a shot of the "rig" I keep this mounted in(not from that show though):

I also use these in a big show to cover the floor area(mostly, they have some help), and these just kick. I also used them instead of a 64 LED Pro and was very pleased with the results.

Now, the Mega Bars, for their size, did a LOT for me and I'm glad I have them. Odd how the beam is round despite the light being a bar.

Now, the Profile Panels are just to give me more options.

Now, if you're going to just want to mount 2 to side arms, I'd really gotta say go with the Mega Panel or the Profile Panel as the mount will be better and will have less issues. Plus, turn them sideways and you can fit them both on.

As far as costs, it's a wash.

Mega Panels brighter than Mega Bar 50's. Profile Panels? can't say until buy 4 of them and try them out. When? Don't know, but I sure will.
thanks Chris,

since i will only get 2
maybe the mega panels are better than profiles

if megas are too bright, can i turn them down to match what the profiles put out?

please let me know how your profiles turn out,
and how they compare to the MegaPanels,

and ye i was worried as to how to mount the mega bar 50 to the side arms,
i wish it had a center mount

as far as 2 mega panels on 1 arm that doable, but having panels face the sides is weird,
so i guess it will be 1 panel per arm, on inside screw or outside, we'll see
Well, the Profile Panels are at least 4-6 months out on the purchase timeline, so I'll have forgotten about this by then. Elation Opti Tri pars and RGB Zooms are more priority.

As far as the mega panels being too bright, there is a dimmer DMX channel so YES you can match them up.

The Mega Panel normally aligns like a peice of paper WIDE.

You can simply twist it 90-degrees into a portrait mode, then attach your clamp and attach it to a bar. No problem. Or if one per side of a T-bar, either way is good.
