Ensure you're using the release currently on the web site, NOT what came on the included CD-ROM. I haven't upgraded to this yet. Tomorrow.

If you're not using the version you download from the web site, then remove(via the Add/Remove Programs control panel) the MyDMX software, reboot. Install the latest. Reboot.

Reboot your computer with the dongle not plugged in.

Plug in the dongle after you're all "good to go" but not running MyDMX yet. Plug it in, wait for it to be discovered, then launch MyDMX.

Try another cable. There is documentation supporting a batch of bad cables. Maybe this affects you. It's an A to B cable, really common.I bet you have a spare laying around or using one with your printer.

Do you need the 64-bit driver? If you're not using a 64-bit version of the OS, then don't use the 64-bit drivers. Simple.

Are you running the latest Windows service packs, hot fixes and updates?

How is your internet connection? Are you connecting right to your cable or ADSL modem? If so, you're an idiot and you're most likely owned already. Software firewall solutions DO NOT WORK(including those by Microsoft and Symantec). Use a broadband router, wired or wireless, doesn't matter.

Any anti-virus software installed? is it current and up to date?

Running Spybot Search and Destroy? It's free and it hates ALL spyware AND it outperforms the commercial versions which leave holes in there for their buddies who punch in more holes for their buddies so it doens't work.

Try these things.

Well, then I guess you must be one, but enough of one to know what one is and to be offended by the fact that you just got called out for NOT using a broadband router.

So, why not pull your cranium out of your digestive exit location and welcome to the real world for a change. You wanted help, you got help. Apparently you need an attitude adjustment. I'd be glad to use a 2X4 to make the necessary changes to your personality.

Chris, I'm not the original poster, which is quite obvious. I do use a broadband router. I'm quite in touch with technology. Further, I work in the law enforcement field by day. I don't think you're really up for the challenges of threatening someone in law enforcement, either, so I'd suggest that you quit while you're ahead. Regardless of how "harmless" you think it was, I take it quite seriously.

The original poster does not deserve to be called an idiot, and I'm sticking up for them. Not sure how that makes ME an idiot or deserving of a whack in the head. My issue was with you calling someone else an idiot. And now you're resorting to personal attacks against myself for calling you out on that, and threatening to use force to change a personality. That has no place on this forum and I will not tolerate it.

Jingles/James (and Chris). I was not offended by his first post. I was simply pointing out this is not appropriate to say to anyone. However, now I am offended. I do not ever want to see this kind of activity on the forum again. I don't care who this guy is or how many posts or help he has provided. This is absolutely uncalled for, and threatening me is not acceptable by any means. I will be contacting American DJ and Sacramento PD regarding this matter if this is not resolved in a timely fashion. And if you think I'm bluffing or just blowing hot air, try me.
