There seems to be some very blatant product flaws in the remote timers AMDJ has designed for their foggers. I have yet to be able to find a remote timer for the 1200HD. I see them out there, but the connector is not the connector I have. In fact, I seem to have a 1200 fogger with the connector of a 700. Has anyone else noticed this. Some blue some yellow, hell I'm really losing faith in the company after owning a plethora of their fogging items. Bottom line, if anyone can help me locate a 1200HD remote with the small (5 pin or so) connector I would appreciate it. The one I have just doesn't work beyond manual fogging, no timing at all. I'm fairly confident I own every timer AMDJ has ever produced, but for some reason none control the 1200 even though they are named after and designed for it

Might it be more long-term beneficial to upgrade to a DMX-equipped fog machine or using a DMX controller with a fog machine trigger(those typically aren't DMX features: the fog machine control, that is).

I'm just sort of strange that way. If I'm spending the kind of money you are on fog machines, I'd be looking at DMX control as well.

Are you sure you're purchasing the

F-Timer FS-1200? Or going for the F Wireless FS1200?

Could it be you have an older Fogstorm 1200 or another older discontinued model?

You might want to phone up support and ask some very specific questions. In the meantime, please post pictures of the interface, perhas a sticker or other marker showing the serial number, model and other stuff like that.

Fogstorm 1200 with the Fogstorm 700 port? Sounds like an older Fogstorm 1200 in my non-enlightened opinion opinion.

I have the wireless remote for the Fogstorm 700. Can't say this is my favorite item, but a brother in law of mine uses it at least once a year with a Fogstorm 700 of mine and he never has a complaint. So, apparently it works just fine, and so therefore it's good enough for me.
Thanks Chris, yes dmx is an option, probably too much functionality and $ for me since I just want to have a constant smoke field at all times. Couldn't get a good picture of the details but here they are: My fogger is the FOG-1200HD serial number 18721852. (I suppose it could be old and discontinued) The remote timer I have is the FTIMERFS1200 (blue) which has a 5 pin connector. I also have the FSTIMERFS700 which is yellow and has the larger 3 prong connector. Now's here's where it gets really confusing........If you look on this site today - the FTIMERFS1200 is yellow with a 5 pin connector and the FTIMERFS700 is blue with a 3 prong connector! Exactly the opposite of what I actually have as far as colors and connectors. Seems like a bad nightmare or something. Maybe someone at the factory was really having a bad month or something and just decided to start mixing up components??? And on top of all that, what some vendors are showing online contradicts what AMDJ claims to have as current products. I guess I'll try to find someone who can sell me what AMDJ is showing on their website as the "official FTIMERFS1200".....which if this site is correct, will be yellow and will have the 5 pin connector. If I knew exactly what the wireless 1200 timer did I would buy that instead. This site nor any other give any specifications on it at all. Thanks for your time always. Daryl
Upon further review, it appears the wireless remote does NOT have timer capabilities. Although many online vendors are using the word "TIMER" in it's description. I went ahead and bought another FTIMERFS1200 (yellow with a 5 pin connector) and hope this one works out of the box unlike my last one.
Well, I can attest that the wireless remote for the Fogstorm 700 is NOT a timer. I get a "car alarm" type remote that I get to push the button on to get a blast of fog. In this regards, it works fine for the application.

A note about colors:
Things change. For whatever reason, a company may change colors or design. Who knows why. Color to me is irrelevant, it's "does the part do what I need to do" and that's all I care about. Obviously, a part for the FogStorm 700 isn't going to work for the 1200, the plugs are "not even close" to being matching.

Another idea that hit me was that there is a DMX Adaptor for the 1200 and 1700 that plugs into that remote port.

Check it out:
DMX Timer for Fog Storm 1200HD

If they had something for the 700, I might go for that. But, my application is "I need more power available" so I need lower current draw devices. And since I want a constant fog since I typically don't need the "puff" effect, I am looking at a DMX hazer. If you're going to want a constant fog, then hazer is the way to go. Haze is thinner than fog, but gives you want you get from fog without the blasts here and there. Just mentioning this as an alternative idea. I can certainly see the need for a hazer for the primary, but then augmenting with a fog machine to get those bursts as needed for the effect.

Also, while you're here, please do visit this page off the main ADJ site:

Fog and Haze Machines

This should give you some better ideas.

I'm personally, when money permits, going for an Antares hazer. It meets my requirements for a water-based haze fluid appication and sticks with the ADJ brand. Jingles and an ADJ dealer I buy from both turned me onto this unit. It costs more than a product from a competing brand, but based on my pleasant experiences with the ADJ family of products, it's money well spent.(when I spend it!)

However, that nifty looking Accufog 1000 gives me some ideas, but my clients don't really demand or want fog, but man, still, the ideas it puts in my head are pretty nifty.
