Problem with cdi 500

I just bought a pair of cdi 500's and one of them plays normally but the other deck suddenly stops.

What kind of problem is that?Can it get fixed by itself? Or i should take it to the supplier?

Does overloading the cd player causes it to function unproperly?

There is no way I know of overloading the player to cause a shutdown. I would take it back and exchange it as a faulty unit. That would be your easiest and cheapest course of action.
