Taking Jingle's steps a bit further:

After you uninstall MyDMX, REBOOT. Then re-install.

Also, you should be at Service Pack 3 unless you've got some software package that just can not work with Service Pack 2. Also, are you installing as the machine admin? Do you have anti-virus software installed? If not, do you surf the web alot? Chances are if you're not running anti-virus software and Spybot Search and Destroy 1.62(current as of this posting) because all other spyware packages suck(they let their buds in, who backdoor and let others in, so it defeats the purpose), you're best of wiping, and starting from scratch again.
No problem.

I've been plagued with a recent influx of people who surf porno sites and other sites of equally questionable "socially redeemable values" and then whining when their machines won't work after all that crudware has been installed and is slowing their machines to a crawl.

I'm not here to pass judgement. I don't care what people's web surfing habits are. But, everyone needs to ise a bit of common sense these days. Anti-Virus software is a must. My recommendation is Norton Anti-Virus. NOT the various other Symantec AV packages, too much crap that causes other issues. And as far as spyware killing, I've seen them all and the best one is the free one: Spybot Search & Destroy.

A clean computer can prevent all sorts of problems, especially in regards to software installs/removals. Since MyDMX isn't exactly the most stable package out there, chances are it's more suseptible to issues on install.

Oh:
When installing, leave the dongle unplugged. The software will ask for it!
