Hi,

I've just bought a Pro-mix (which I know has been discontinued) but I'm having problems with it and could do with some help.

When connected to 1 of my computers it takes some time connecting, but eventually connects and appears to work fine.

However, when I try and connect to two other far higher spec machines, the unit just says linking and ProMix says it can't connect to the controller.

I have tried deinstalling / reinstalling the ports without success. I have also tried every combination of port setting.

What should the port settings be?

Also any suggestions? I'm suring proMix 1.2

Many thanks,

T-bone

I received a PM from one of the moderators called Sergio C. who very kindly said he's send me a data sheet. However, one was never forthcoming. I have sent him a couple of reminders, but still nothing. His message has now been deleted from my PM's so I can't send him a message again :-(

Sergio, if you read this could you send me the sheet please, or post it here so anyone else with the same problem could see it.

If any other moderators are reading this and can help with my problem I'd realy appreciate it, as I still can't get my pro mix to connect.

Many thanks,

T-bone
Hi Sergio,

In your last post you said you would post a link here shortly to the relevant Pro Mix document that might help me with my connection problem.

Well another week has gone by and no link.

I'd really appreciate it if you could post it here. That way if anyone else has the same problem they will be able to find it. Also I have given you two email addresses and haven't received anything, so maybe posting here is a safer bet !

I would really appreciate you help.

Hi Danny,

It's a connection problem. I have tried to connect the Pro Mix to both a desktop and a laptop, without success.

Both are very high spec machines way exceeding the minimum spec required.

Yet I know the pro mix controller works as I have tried it on a friends desktop and it connected after a few attempts.

I'm a Microsoft certified systems engineer so I should be able to connect an external peripheral to a serial port in my sleep.

To me it appears that the Pro mix has only two settings for the comms port.

1. Which port to use (com1-com4)
2. Connection speed of 57600 or 115200

I have tried setting up my computers on all four ports on both speeds, with no luck. Have also tried other speeds, again no joy.

I have tried deleting the port and re-installing without any success.

Looking at the settings for the port on my friends computer, the port was set back to default, so a freshly installed port on my machine was identical.

All computers are running XP sp2 and using Pro Mix 1.2

I have installed pro mix 1.2 both with the controller attached and without. Either way, when the program starts it can't find the controller. It then brings up the configuration screen allowing me to change the port settings as mention above.

I have also tried using a serial to usb adapter, again without success.

Any suggestions would be appreciated.

Cheers,

T-Bone
