Me personally, I have been going with the ADJ o-clamps. Non-marking and work pretty good. I think it's almost all plastic, so definately not rated for anything heavy. All my fixtures are relatively light weight though.

It's always good to get clamps rated for a much higher load than you need, as well as a consistent set of clamps, so you don't have to have multiple tools or mixing and matching. So, find what you like, then stock up on it and stick with it.
I have a bunch of different clamps for many different purposes. The fixture I'm planning to hang with a pair of pro clamps is a Martin EFX600. It only weights about 36 pounds, which is nothing compared to a lot of other lights, but due to the unit's mounting plate as well as the orientation I'm wanting to hang it in, a standard C clamp won't work for this. I know that using a pair of pro clamps is way over kill, but they do the job and I'd rather be safe than sorry!
Id rather you be safe than sorry too! Overkill is always a good thing when it comes to safety.

I have some Mega Clamps and some Super Clamps. I had to build a couple of tools at Sears to accomodate the different nut sizes. For me, having a dedicated tool for something might not be the best way to go, but it helps in simplying some things, and is harder to lose than a socket set.

Then adding an S-clamp into the mix, now it started to get silly.

Fortunately, o-clamps do the job for me, OR ELSE its' the bolt holes and providd bolt/nut sets that came with my stand hardware. Since i am leaving things in mostly "permanently mounted" configurations(as in, I always use my LTS-2 stands with 4 64 LED Pros on it), I leave the lights on the t-bar, pre wired to save set/strike time.
