hey all,
Just thought I'd post this message to see what you guys think.
I have a home studio that I use to produce music for a few different bands. We also use the space to jam and just generally hang out. I installed a couple Gobo Grooves last year, and the effect on us as musicians was positive. It really seems to get us into the club mood. I wanted some intels, so I added a couple PocketScans and a DMX Operator II I got off eBay. (And I have a couple more PocketScans on the way from another eBay seller.)
I plan to try the PocketScans in the corners, four together on one wall, 2 and 2, etc. until I'm happy with the effect, then mount some tracks to the studs and hang the lights semi-permanently. I've got stands for the lights, and I'll use those to try out the various mounting positions before I drill any holes, and for mobile use when we play out (a party in July).
In another post, I mentioned that one of the lights has a problem after about an hour of use. I think that it's an actual problem and not a design issue.
What I'm wondering is this. Can I run the lights all night, say 5 or 6 hours without any issues? I will have several scenes and chases for when the mood requires it, but I'll also use the scanners for static lighting.
Thanks for your input, the posts on this board have been extremely helpful in both choosing an intel setup and working with what I already have. (The PocketScans are perfect for my studio, not too bright and an extremely high _coolness_ factor that only intels could provide.)
