hey i am thinking about getting a pocket scan system. does anyboy have any input on these? how well do they perform, are they worth their cost? just lookin for input

I have 4 and they are great , I love them to death, they are bright, they have smooth movement, clean colors, and they weigh like nothing at all, and have low power consumption! Yes... All I can say Is buy them , they are worth it. And dont get hesitated from 100 watt bulb, I used my pocket scans with mightys, and they are the practically the same.

what would be the bet controller for them?
The best controller would be any one controller that fits your needs. If you only need to have a couple of preprogrammed sequences. The solo is fine. Also everyone has personal preferences. I prefer using a joystick for pan/tilt. Some people prefer using the sliders, and others a wheel. What would you want to do with the lights?
Some basic sequences?
Very complex sequences with multiple banks of scans?
Do you have any DMX programming experience?
Will you be using the pocket scans as a suplement to an existing light show, or on their own?
If you answer these questions. It will make it easier for us to recommend a particular controller that would fit your needs.
