I see the manual is pretty bad... Can you tell me what is on the back of the unit?

If its dip switches (small switches) then switch one must be set to on according to the manual. I'm guessing it has 10 switches total. To set it to channel one if my assumptions are correct, then switch 1 and 2 must be on. This would start at channel 1 and end as channel 6.

Good Luck!

Nice try, no cigar.

Yes there is a 10 position dip switch, but that's not quite how it works. I played with it and here's what I think they indended.

10 on, all others off then it is in a freestanding audio mode.
9 & 10 on is a color changing mode with sw's 1-7 used to set the speed.

8, 9 & 10 on is a color mixing mode, with intensities set by 1-6. This is all documented.

What isn't document is that for DMX, turn 10 OFF, then 1-9 become the binary DMX address switches. I was able to set the starting address to 128 by turning on 8 only.

ADJ support was no help. There reaponse was to turn on 1 for DMX. Which doesn't do squat if you don't turn 10 off.

Doesn't instill confidence. However, for the price the PAR38 and 64 LED fit the bill for certain effects.

this is binary logic.
A dmx adres is set by the combination of the switches. every switch represents a value.
sw1 = 1
sw2 = 2
sw3 = 4
sw4 = 8
sw5 = 16
sw6 = 32
sw7 = 64
sw8 = 128
sw9 = 256

to set the adress at 3 u set switch 1 & 2 because 1+2 = 3

te set the adress at 14 u set switch 2, 3 & 4
because 2+4+8 = 14

normaly the first fixture is set to 1,
if a device uses 6 DMX adresses, the next device should have adress 7.

Depending on the controller u use (par example 8 sliders controller), it can be handy to set the adress of the second device not on 7 but a higher number, so that u uses a 'bank' switch to toggle between devices, and the sliders keep identical functions. in this example the adress of the second device is best set to 9.

the numbers u noted in your post, represent not the adresses but the value's.
if you use the slider on your controller the value that is send to the corresponding adress changes from 0 to 255.
the parcan probably uses 2 chanels, one for dimming the light and a second to select the color or a pre-programmed colorrotation.

hope this is helpfull.
