old school

New to the forum. Owned and operated a mobile DJ service for ten years and specialized in wedding receptions. The sound and lighting system now is dated but serviceable. I am concidering rekindling the business with certain upgrades to my existing lighting mostly on the control end. Wish to maintain the use of vinyl and CDs as before. I believe that this technology is proven and reliable. Have discussed this topic with a local DJ who believes vinyl is coming back. Anybody here at the forum feel the same way?

It all depends upon what type of clients you have. Do they understand that you will be playing with a limited number of selections as opposed o someone with a hard drive full of tunes? Will they accept substitutions of a song if the one they want isn't available (ie another song in the same genre). I remember carrying crates of LP's and cases of 45's and having to tell someone I didn't have that particular song, but played something similar.
