NO sound with my vms4,mac,traktor,vdj

i just got the vms4 a week ago and still cant get any sound out of it. yes the mappings work on traktor and it reads the controller but when i connected it to speakers im getting no sound not even out of my headphones and i tried virtual dj also but no sound i messed around with the settings and used the vms4 card but still nothing. so please can someone run me through the steps with a mac. can my vms4 soundcard be possibly broken?

i did all that but still but im getting sound its just i have to max everything out and the sound is so unclear
