New User- xp or windows 8? touch screen????

Hi guys im starting in the world of dmx and i just order mydmx i saw a ton of videos to learn how to use it but havent hear anything about what's best to use windows XP or if i can use Windows 8 and use the touch screen? any of you have try that?
