Jingles,

I have come to the conclusion that it only works after I post my issues. So, the next time I am having problems I will post it first, then the gremlins will leave and everything will work right again. I am not kidding, after hours of frustration and troubleshooting the moment I post. The problem goes away...
I think it's time to schedule an exorcism on your computer!

Seriously though, and while I may be a bit on the extreme side, I try to keep my workstations and laptops in peak running condition, which includes a quarterly wipe and start over.

Try this advise:

When installing, don't have the hardware plugged in. Install, reboot, then plug in the hardware. Let the OS discover it, and you should be "fine".

ALSO, don't boot with the dongle plugged in. Plug it in after you've logged in.

How's your car running, by the way? I bet it's pulling the same sort of routine when you take it to a mechanic!
