I think the next BIG thing will be the 3D Visualizer for offline programming. But last reported it's due out in late 2013.

I've been hearing rumors about it.
I don't really see a big advantage with it; being that the software could REALLY use some practical upgrades before any visualizer is turned out.

No kidding, there are so many things that don't work once you get under the surface. They should lock they're programmers in a shipping container underground until they can churn out something that doesn't fucking suck.

An offline visualizer would make the package more useful for people. It's very useful to be able to setup your fixtures virtually and program at home without having to setup any gear. Then you can tweak it if you need to at the show with everything setup.

I don't use MyDMX personally, but I have played with the first version some. I know it was pretty solid just before 2.0 was announced. But 2.o is a complete re-write.

But if the 3D visualizer is anything like the one in version one, it will be just about worthless. Since anytime you added an effect it wouldn't animate in the visualizer.

There are limitations to a 3d visualizer. It is mostly useful for pars, moving heads, and scanners. Dot lights, and lights like the quad phase or starball are hard to re-create.
