Need Professional DJ's suggestion for home DJ lighting

I'm actually a home theatre installer and recently been requested by a client to shop for DJ lighting equipments for his home. The room is about is about 25'x30' and ceiling is about 9'. He had mentioned that he would like a laser type but aren't these limited to a certain color like green? Wouldn't LED give similar effect but with more colors? His budget for the equipment is $1k.

I figured I could get bet. 2-3 units for the budget but I have been noticing that some units need to be remotely controlled? I'm looking for units that could run on it's own w/o a controller or would interact with the music. Compact enough for home use.

Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

Hey welcome to the forums, I would say our galaxian laser. it has red and green laser diodes. Also for a cool effect kinda like lasers but LED my personal favorites are the REVO series or the quad gem DMX. But you can certainly run any of those fixtures i just mentioned without a controller and they have nice programs built in. Take a look around the laser and LED sections on our homepage.

Another thing to be careful of is using isolated circuits for the lighting. You can induce a lot of electrical noise into the HT setup if you are not careful. Hit me up for any things you might be looking for and I'll try to give you a hand. Do some HT stuff on the side as well.

The use of isolated circuits is always prefered. Sound and lighting should not touch despite the fact that they so often work together, and often work together quite well.

Short of that, using power conditioners and proper quality surge supressors with EMI and RF filters in them should typically resolve many(but not ALL) of these problems.

I don't do HT stuff on the site. I don't like working in finished walls and I cost too much. Sorry, I just like doing the job right and then getting the hell out of there knowing I never have to go back.
