Need Help on whole light setup

I am an administrator at a high school and we are looking at begining to DJ our own dances. We are trying to get a decent light setup together. Our former DJ basically just had a light bar and a strobe. Nothing fancy. We would like to do a little better then that. I like the look of the deluxe scan 250, but when I start looking at the different models, all I see is different prices instead of different features.

We have our dances in a room the is about 100x150 feet with 30 ceilings. They actually uses only about 30x30 of that as a dance floor. We are looking for something that is simple, but that in the future kids may be able to learn how to program. For now I would like to hook the ipod up to the sound system, turn the lights on and have a nice dance with the lights going automatically for the most part.

If someone could help I would appreciate recommendations on an entire light setup (we are starting from scratch) I am hoping to keep this under $2000. Thanks

welcome to the forums. do u need just lights or do u need lights and truss and a controller? if this is a dance do u have a disco ball? look at the systems of 4 scanners avail. u should be able to find one for a good price. i reccommend the performance scans 250. i can get u cheap prices but we will have to discuss that outside the forum. so click on my link i got here for the digital 1200 site and i can hook u up with my dealer. peace! jingles!!
