Once in awhile especially after programming awhile, I get random lights that just tweak out. I've never used DMX prior to this program but get the grasp of everything. Is this somthing thats common with DMX as in one of my cables is bad? or a light is bad? or is it in the program or my computer? Any help would be appreciated

One or more of the lights will randomly be doing its own thing tweaking out and youll see it once in awhile switch for an instant back to what it was supposed to be doing and go back to tweaking out. Granted its here and there and when i reset the power to the lights and reset the computer it seemed to be better.
Dakine,

I get some weird 3D visualizer glitches. Most of the time everything is doing the same thing as the actual lights are...then sometimes the actual lights are working properly but the 3D visualizer is showing them doing something completely different. It does not happen all the time but about 10 to 20% of the time. That makes it difficult to program the lights using the just visualizer...I now have to program my lights while they are in actual use so these glitches do not actually show up in the actual show. A big disappointment for me with this software. Have you experienced anything like this?

Taking on the MyDMX software:

Thr 3D Visualizer needs to be as accurate as possible. While I am all for configurnig real lights on-site, the whole purpose of the 3D Visualizer is to save this hassle. If the 3D Visualizer is reasonably accurate, for me, that works. Most of my shows are concerts and since people move around and generally don't share stage directions with me, I can at least get something basic and hit certain marks. It's not ideal, but since most of the acts I deal with either stay put or move around too much, I've been able to get by. If I'm working a choreographed show, then typically I got some follow spot operators that the promoter hired(and popping my FOH circuit!)

But, back to the issue: it's sounding like a long microphone cable and/or no DMX terminator is the cause of these issues. It's consistent with the type of description being provided.
