Hi Paul,Welcome to the forums. Thanks for buying My DMX.
A DMX universe is one set of 512 DMX channel. So 1,024 channels is two DMX universes. 513 channels is one universe and one channel. Make sense?
your not gonna need multiple "universes" as most people barely max out a full 512 channels wit hall of their fixtures combined. however you can have multiple show (.dlm) files saved from the my dmx program with different configurations of your lighitng set up. Have you seen the you tube channel for my dmx?

I did see your mydmxtech channel on Youtube. Looks like there are only 3 videos on there so far. I stumbled across some other folks posting some mydmx suggestions on youtube that were very helpful. That's where I learned about FX....making programming my Pocket Scans MUCH easier than doing each step individually. For some reason, I have trouble following the manual. The manual seems to assume there is some base level of understanding...which I don't have yet. I guess at this point I still need some step by step suggestions on functionality of the software.

I definitely appreciate your willingness to share your expertise and well as the willingess of other on the forum to share their knowledge. Maybe someday I'll be able to contribute more as I learn the software.
