Trying to find instructions on how to install the proper USB driver for my Vista 64bit laptop. I installed the current March2009 software, but the usb device is not being recognized, because it can't find the correct driver. I downloaded the drivers from the ADJ website, and I don't know how to install it. Thanks.

Jingles, I got it to work for about 1 minute (with glitches) and then it stopped working all together. The software only runs in demo mode and the computer is telling me that the USB driver is installed for the MyDMX hardware, but the software won't recognize it. Any thoughts?
Ok, I uninstalled the software and USB driver and reinstalled everything again, and I am still having a problem with the USB device. Device manager states the USB driver is installed and ready to use, but the software is not recognizing it. On the myDMX box, I am getting the red light on all the time, the USB light is not on at all, and the DMX light is blinking very rapidly.

I have been using this same device on an XP based laptop and PC for months, but this is the first time I'm trying to use it on Vista 64bit, as your driver was recently released. Is there anything else I can do? I am planning on using this off of this Vista laptop at a conference on Monday.

Thanks!
Not trying to flood the forum with posts. Just letting you know what's going on here.

I just tried installing the software on another PC that has XP, and everything worked just fine. I uninstalled myDMX and the USB drivers from the Vista laptop and reinstalled everything for probably the 5th time now, and I got the computer to recognize the box. When I go into myDMX, it now starts in USB mode, but I do not have control over anything, and when I go to close the software, it gives me the same popup about the "Computerized lighting controller has stopped working". At this point, I am thinking the USB driver is faulty. Anyone have any thoughts on this? Is anyone having this problem, and how did you get around it...or can you?

Thanks!
Normally I'm an early adoopter of stuff. But I have a show today. Sorry, no MyDMX upgrades for me right now!!

I do have a show on the 9th. If time permits. I'll try updating the MyDMX software before that one.

Here are some suggestions that I use:
After installing software that requires drivers for hardware, I'll typically reboot. I bet you've done that though.

It could also be that you're using a 64-bit version of Vista and you also need to install the 64-bit drivers for MyDMX. But, I doubt that is the case because you leave me with the impression that you had it working under Vista, which means you're using a 32-bit version.

What other software do you have installed, and specs please.
Chris,

I only used the software in XP up until this point. I am trying to use the new 64bit drivers that are on ADJ's website, but that is where the problem lies. I believe the USB driver is faulty. Yes, I did reboot several times, and nothing changes. I would like to know if anyone has had this working in Vista 64bit. I know the driver is new, but it is not working for me at all.

Thanks!
Patmat, unfortunately, I have been unable to get the software to work on my 64bit laptop. I did not have time to waste, so I just picked up a laptop running XP off of eBay to get by for now. I do want to get it running on my 64bit system, but I'm just going to have to wait until more reliable drivers are released. Thanks.
Jingles, here is more info on the problem, I have observed the following: All lights on dongle indicate proper function.

Power - solid red
USB - flashing green
DMX - flashing green

First sign of trouble is upon adding a fixture on the software side - hour glass or mydmx crash or a partial load with no control of fixture. If I disconnect the dongle the fixture will load fully and show proper dip switch settings and pre-set. Reconnect dongle to USB, still no control.
Yes my device manager says Intelligent Usb Dmx Interface (SIUDI6C, 32/64bits)

My experience is that when i plug the interface in the computer, all the lights(ADJ Megapixel, and Chauvet colortube controller) shut down and go into address mode, that's a good sign cause it does the same on my old desktop computer running windows XP 32 bit.

But when i start myDMX on my laptop vista ultimate 64-bit, while the software launches in USB mode, all the lights suddenly light up, then when software has finished launching, the megapixel goes back to black but the colortubes start blinking. And then there is no way to patch any profile. When i shut down the software, megapixel goes back to autorun and colortubes goes black.
If i relaunch the software, same scenario happens again.

Do you have an ETA on a working driver for Vista 64 bit?

I have installed VMWare on vista 64-bit and have successfully been able to run myDMX on a Windows XP 32-bit virtual machine so that can be a solution for the others until a driver is released.

In my case, i also need to run a midi interface to control myDMX and i haven't been able to make my interface work on the windows XP virtual machine so i have to find another solution.
