My DMX USB problems!

Hello everyone, the problem I am having with the controller is once I plug into the USB port, the usb light on the controller lights up then goes off but the DMX light is flashing green. I have uninstalled and reinstalled the program thinking this would solve the problem with no success. So is this a sign that my controller is sick or am I just not getting it right? Thanks in advance

Are you using the latest software? The June update? Also the USB light goes off when you launch the program?

I'm having the same issue- I thought is was an issue with my laptop. It has the latest June update. I have another computer with an older version and it works fine on that one.

I had a similar problem with the June version. Two of my Chauvet Slimpar64 stopped responding to DMX commands. I uninstalled and installed the 12/10 version and it resolved the issue.

Thanks to all that replied. I am sorry I haven't responded sooner. I do have the latest software, just might be time for a new computer. The problem is not constant, just off and on now.

Try a better cable. It's not unusual for the cable to be kinda bad. They are just generic printer-type cables.

I had a similiar problem. It went away after I replaced the USB cable.

I have had this problem on and off since the very first software version. The majority of the time it works perfectly but every once n while it does this. Is there a specific sequence that needs to be followed when setting up the laptop and connection to the dongle / USB and DMX cabling? Maybe this could be the issue?

What I do is power on the PC, then let it normalize as far as CPU and RAM usages goes. Then plug in the interface without dmx cable on. Launch my dmx. confirm it is seeing the interface then plug in my main dmx cable and test with the lights on and set up.
