My DMX Crashing

I have been using mydmx for a little over a year and have had to unistall and reinstall 5 times due to it crashing repeatedly.
This is not a problem if i'm near the net, but i have been caught short a couple of times.
I downloaded the zip file to get round this, but when Mydmx stopped working, installing the zip didn't work, so it has to be downloaded fresh every time.
The steps to it giving up the ghost are;
1. Faders on edit screen become heavy with latancy, and are fixed by flicking to another screen and back again.
2. Faders stop responding, as do the scenes.
3. Program crshes and gives 'computerized software has stopped working, checking for solutions' (nothing found)
4 restart program, and will only start in DEMO.

I am using Vista 32.
