I've been looking at another controller/software that allows me to drag a music file into the program, and then drag lighting cues onto it. Is anything like that possible to do with MYDMX?

No, our sister company Elation Lighting has software called CompuShow which lets you do this. However, MyDmx2 was designed to be very user friendly and has only basic lighting design "bells and whistles" If you are trying to do pre programmed light shows to music, compu show is the way to go
